Welcome
I’m Aly.
I like to listen… I believe that to be our best selves, we ‘Bloom’ and then ‘Rise!’
I chose to qualify as a transformational coach over 10 years ago as I am driven to help people make changes towards succeeding and living a better life.
I am also a member of the British Mediation Association and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, enabling me to carry out my current role as HR Director for a large retail, wholesale and distribution company.
Operating at board level has given me insight into executive level and senior management dynamics. Working your way up to this level can often be a lonely and risky existence. As a coach I provide an objective sounding board to help you build confidence with respect to influencing, messaging to get your sponsors on side, presentation, and developing effective networks with your peers at all levels of the organisation.
I have experienced my own fair share of life issues, many of us have had to deal with. Some have been fascinating, some frustrating, others challenging or, frankly painful that they are difficult to face up to and deal with.
We’ve all heard the phrase ‘What doesn’t break us makes us stronger’ my response to this is ‘Really?’. In retrospect this is possibly true, maybe it’s all about the timing when the remark is made but I do believe that we are the sum of our experiences and the choices we make. I believe that our future is not “written in stone”, we can always learn and adapt our outlook and behaviours so that we continue to achieve better outcomes in work, life and self. Someone once said to me, you’re wise, not old, I’d like to think it has some truth in it!
About me
I live in Dorset on the south coast, I spend as much time in the outdoors as I can, cycling across the Jurassic Coast, sailing in and around Poole Harbour or simply admiring views from my local beaches and coastal paths.
I believe we need to ‘Bloom’ before we ‘Rise’
I describe ‘Bloom’ as the first part of the process. It’s the work and investment we put in to understand ourselves better. It’s knowing what makes us tick, our internal drivers, our passions, our insecurities and strengths; by recognising these we are then well positioned to ‘Rise’.
Rise is where we identify the changes needed, we work at being comfortable in making those changes and practising to adopt them into our daily lives.
The Dorset coastline… My happy place
Together we consider
+ How to bring changes into work, life and self
+ How to present the changes in ourselves to those around us
+ How to influence others
+ How to take actions to reach our goals.
+ Is my inner voice now more accepting of work and life.?
When looking for a coach, ’connection’ and trust is critical.
As a coach I want you to feel safe and have the space to talk, be able to examine your own thoughts and to be constructively challenged in a supportive way. Start with an initial 20 minute conversation for us to identify if we are the right fit. Coaching isn’t about counselling, or therapy, it is about clarifying thoughts and creating steps to make a change.
Is coaching right for you? Do any of the following sound familiar?
You know you want more, but feel stuck.
You’re frustrated at work.
You lack confidence.
You’re in burnout mode.
Your career isn’t unfolding how you hoped.
Challenging working relationships affect your wellbeing and / or effectiveness of your output.
You feel overwhelmed.
You feel like a fraud / imposter.
It’s not coincidence that one or more of these statements rings true for you. The majority of the people I’ve worked with have reported feeling this way when we started working together.
Imagine a life where you:
Feel focused and able to set and meet your goals.
Prioritise meaningful self-care.
Set your boundaries and defend them with confidence.
Cultivate confidence.
Set manageable tasks and let go of a false sense of urgency over everything.
Allow yourself to feel your emotions so you can process / deal with them appropriately.
Give yourself permission to be imperfect.
